Receiving Procedure
Please inspect all shipments upon arrival for obvious damage to
containers. Claims should be made immediately with carrier. You or anyone
accepting delivery must follow these steps. By failing to do so you may forfeit
any right you may have to compensation for damage/loss.
-
Check the number of boxes/ pieces received against the
number shown on the freight bill. If there is any discrepancy, note so on
the bill before signing. Immediately notify the freight company by phone.
They have five days to locate any missing boxes/pieces.
-
Carefully check the entire shipment for any signs of obvious
damage, such as tears in the packaging, punctures, broken
straps or damage to the skid if on pallet. If you find any
damage, open the package and have the nature and extent of the damage noted
on both copies of the freight bill. Make sure the freight company
representative signs your copy. Immediately request an inspection of the
damaged merchandise. Keep all packaging materials from the shipment. After
inspection, file a damage claim with the freight company for the value of
the damaged merchandise. Keep the damaged merchandise and packaging until
after the claim has been settled.
-
If there are no shortages or obvious damage, you must accept
delivery and immediately open package and check for hidden damage. If any is
found, follow the same procedures as for obvious damage above.
-
Do not assume a box/piece count is correct because a pallet
is shrink wrapped. Pieces can slip out of the wrap. Once you sign for all
pieces as being delivered, you have no right to any claim. Also, don't have
someone else accept the shipment unless they are familiar with these
procedures. If a neighbor, relative or employee signs for the shipment as
being in good shape, it's as if you signed for it yourself. Don't assume
that loose pieces are fine. In fact, you can assume that they are damaged.
We put all common carrier shipments together for one reason-to protect your
merchandise.
Return Policy
All returned items require a return authorization number (RMA)
and prepaid freight within 30 days of purchase. A non-damaged return must be in original packaging to be
re-sold and a 20% re-stock fee will be charged. Unauthorized returns will not be
accepted.
